WhatsApp is reportedly bringing voice and video calls to browsers

Microsoft will close Skype on Monday, May 5, in less than a week. Although it has long fallen in favor of zoom, teams and Google Mate, more consumers may be turning to WhatsApp. The messaging platform is allegedly working on a feature that will bring sound and video calling to its web browser, Wabetainfo Reports.

The WhatsApp already allows sound and video calls on its Mac and Windows apps, but this update will allow users to access these functions without downloading the app. Although I am happy to get the app on my personal computer, it can benefit everyone who doesn’t want to download the WhatsApp on the work computer. Right now, the feature is only under development, but the following is a preview.

WhatsApp has recently taken additional steps to facilitate calling. In March, the platform launched Call menu feature One for one and group chats. This allows users to select a type of call or send a call link from inside the chat.
