Opening statements at the Karen Red’s second trial – a Massachusett woman who accused her police officer boyfriend of killing her with her SUV – is about to begin.
A 45 -year -old man has been charged with killing a secondary degree, massacre of motor vehicles, and leaving the scene of a collision, which has led to death. He has requested not to be guilty.
Boston Police Department veteran John Okifi was found dead at the end of January 2022. A medical inspector decided that he died of the head of the hypothermia and the Blint Force.
The couple was now drinking alcohol with other officers in the Boston area before going home to the retired sergeant. O Kaif was found irresponsible in the courtyard of the sergeant. Before Okifi died, no witnesses and any video footage caught the moment.
In the first trial, the prosecutor argued that after reading in Okifi after reading, he returned after searching for him after leaving him, while his defense lawyers argued that the officers at the party – probably killed him.
A year ago, the first murder case ended in a wrong case when the judges began the disruption. Red asked the state’s highest court to make two charges-which included a second degree murder-since several judges expressed that after the trial that they would have voted to acquit the count. The court rejected his request.
Earlier this month, Red appealed his case to the Supreme Court about double risk concerns. The court said it would review whether to take the case on April 25, but rejected the request to delay the trial.

Defense holes in the tail light theory
In his initial statement, the prosecution continued to point to the broken telle of the car.
Now, the defense is saying that his tail light was broken hours after being removed from his boyfriend at Albert’s house.
Jackson said that night collided with another car with a tail light. Defense will show a video – five hours after he left Okifi – when his tail light was damaged. The incident allegedly happened on the Okifi’s driveway.
Jackson said that Brennan told the judges earlier this morning, in another direct contradiction, “she never says,” I killed her. ” “Not a single first respondent,” he said, or civilian reported the words.

Okifi’s injuries are not in accordance with car accident: defense
Shortly after Brennan’s statement was read by Okifi’s anger, when he was lying on a cold ground, Jackson provided a different explanation: Okif went inside the house and read in the car, frustrated.
Only when he left her angry voice miles because she thinks she is just going to stay inside for a few minutes.
Jackson said Okif could not walk on his phone after the first shock to his head, could not talk, which made him unconscious. He added that he did not face hypothermia-his body did not show signs of cold bytes or cold injuries to his organs.
Jackson said medical evidence would prove that he was killed somewhere else – “somewhere hot” – and that his body had to move into the cold. He did not suffer a single injury on his body, “he was hit by a car.”
Jackson argued that injuries to his body are not consistent with the car accident, but is more compatible with the abrasions of a big dog. Albert’s dog was at home immediately after the incident, he said.

Alan Jackson presented a preliminary statement to defend Red
“There was no clash with John Okifi,” he told the jury.
Jackson argued that fellow policemen damaged the investigation. He mostly accused the central investigator Michael Proctor in the matter.
Investigations “had to be rolled out of mistakes from the beginning.” “Prejudice, incompetence and deception,” and “have deliberately tried to avoid deliberate efforts and hide the fact that you are looking for,” he said.
Read on that day at 6 am, Okifi was found dead in Brian Albert’s lawn. Despite the sirens and chaos from his home, “a swearing -in peace officer and the first respondent, Brian Albert himself, never came out.”
Jackson said that the Proctor never investigated the house that day, never released the locality properly or did not get a scene of crime.
Michael Proctor was not named by the prosecution in his initial statements. “I suspect, it was through the design,” said Jackson. She is the architect of the prosecution “but she is also her Achilles Hill.”

Hong Brennan is giving a preliminary statement to the prosecution
Brennan said, “I hit him. I hit him. I hit him. I killed him.”
This was asked to provide background information about John Okifi. Brennan argued that he told respondents three first that he targeted Okifi.
“We are here today because John Okifi killed Karen with actions and crime,” he said. “Okifi got out of the car, after discussing with the defendant, he stood on the side of the road … an argument caused by heavy drugs … the defendant and his SUV fled.”
“She was angry and was arguing with John Okifi,” she said, “Before she left for the bar but” she returned the fight to her SUV. “
