We test every phone in real -world scenarios, focusing on its features, design, performance, cameras, battery life and overall value. We document our results in an initial review that is from time to time when the software is updated, or to compare it to new phones of competitors like Apple, Samsung, Google and One Plus.
The Galaxy Z Philip 5 has the same camera hardware as Z. Philip 4. But the new chip improves some image processing.
Photography
Photography is a great focus for most phones these days, so we take pictures and videos of different subjects in different settings and light scenes. We test any new camera methods, such as the Peruce Log Video that debuted with the iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max, or a magic editor photo tool that launches with Google Pixel 8 series.
Battery life
Battery is tested in different ways. We evaluate how long the phone lasts during a normal day of use and notes how it performs during video calls, media streaming and more concentrated sessions of gaming. We also conduct video playback tests, as a simple, immeasurable move of pure battery life, which is not always included in the initial review but sometimes later includes a refreshment.
Performance measurement
We use benchmarking apps to measure each phone’s performance, along with our own story experiences using the phone for our reviews. Most notable is how graphics and dynamic images are visible. Are they smooth? Or do they stay behind or hesitate? We also see how quickly the phone switchs between horizontal and vertical orientation, and how fast the camera app opens and ready to take a picture.
Emergency SOS can be one of the most important features of any phone on this year.
We perform heavy work from the processor such as editing photos, exporting videos and playing games. We estimate whether the new version of a particular phone contains enough features to enable it to be upgraded from old models.
